Wrist Wear Makeover

Watch Enhancement

Starts like this-
Ends like this-

I used an inexpensive watch that I've had for awhile. Functional but it lacks character. The band has a scale texture to it but it really isn't noticeable till painted. Time for a makeover!

Start by cleaning your watch for a good painting surface.

Next paint on your color of choice. Use more or less paint depending on the look you want. I used 2 layers of acrylic paint. I wiped off a little bit before it dried so the that most the paint ended up in the nooks and crannies.

Let paint dry thoroughly.

Then I used silver fingernail polish to paint a detail line around the edge of the watch band. I used nail polish because it was the only silver paint I had :)

Again let dry thoroughly.

Since I used a water based paint it needed to be sealed. Brush on 2 or 3 layers of Mod Podge (or some product along those line).

Sorry if I sound like a broken record, but here goes- Let dry thoroughly!

Now decide where you want your studs. I used an x acto blade to make starter holes for the prongs of the studs. Punch prongs through the band.

Then flip over watch and use a pair of pliers to bend prongs over to secure. Repeat with the rest of your studs.

Most important step- Enjoy your new one of a kind watch!
